In a groundbreaking move, Davido has not only launched Nine+ Records but also disclosed plans for all Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) artists to transition to the newly established record label.
Throughout his press tour for the Madison Square Garden Timeless concert, Davido engaged in numerous media interviews. Alongside recreating the iconic Kobe Bryant 2001 championship photo and asserting his status as Nigeria's Greatest of All Time, the Grammy-nominated artist made a significant announcement.
Collaborating with the US distribution firm UnitedMasters, Davido introduced Nine+ Records, a fresh label set to expand beyond Afrobeats into diverse genres such as hip-hop, R&B, Latin, and country music. Steve Stoute, Founder and CEO of UnitedMasters, commended Davido's entrepreneurial drive and expressed high hopes for the partnership.
Davido announced on his social media platform that he would move all DMW artists to Nine+ Records. He said this on April 19, 2024. He said, “All dmw artist would be moved to Nine + records …. Clearing the air!”
